Connected City

Capabilities

Centralized, Sensor Network Management

Aggregates and fuses data from multiple sensor types such as video cameras, wearables, environmental sensors license plate readers (LPRs), dry contact sensors, waste bin sensors and sound sensors.

Real-time Monitoring

Enables an operator to view the video feed from any camera or sensor input from a single console. Connects to mobile, temporary and ad-hoc data sources and cameras, effectively extending the area being monitored without the need to invest in costly, fixed infrastructure.

Real-time Analytics

Integrates and processes multiple analytics inputs (e.g., video and face recognition cameras and LPRs) and automatically identifies abnormal behaviors, events , patterns and trend changes.

Video analytics locate and determine the whereabouts and movements of vehicles, objects and people. LPR analytics identify vehicles and vehicular behaviors. Face recognition analytics identify and capture human faces from high-resolution video streams.

Unified Situational Awareness Picture (USAP)

Creates a comprehensive USAP on geographic information system (GIS) maps that provides a holistic, current view of events taking place in the city.

Resource Management and Monitoring

Monitors and displays real-time status of system resources including mobile units, sites and sensors.

Multi-organisation Information Sharing

Share information and resources across specified organisations, including live and recorded video, USAPs, events and procedures, through a simple, shared interface.

Hierarchical, Centralized Information Management

Seamlessly integrates data from multiple lower-level sites into a central site and displays that data in a single user interface, thus eliminating redundancies and centralizing operations as appropriate.

Mobile Application

Enables citizens to use a mobile device to report city-related incidents and for first responders to send real-time status updates including text, photos and video.

Executive Dashboard

Provides a high-level snapshot of the current situation across the entire city or in various sections. It includes a comprehensive view on geographic information system (GIS) maps, a City Calendar screen that displays all major planned events in the city, graphical representations of traffic incidents and flow, and trend analysis of various performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Public Notification

Uses various communication mechanisms such as broadcast radio, variable message signs, and text messages – all distributed via the operations center – to advise citizens on events and conditions that may affect their safety such as a nearby gas leak or fire.

Historical Data Analysis, Prediction and Simulation

Uses recognized events, behaviors, patterns and trends in historical data to predict future criminal behavior and potential incidents.

Reports

Provides customizable reports including statistical and trend reports; forensic reports with event details and multi-sensor data (video, images and LPRs) for prosecutors.  Also provides event-handling reports with detailed information on response times, events (by operator) and system audits.

Event Management

Manages the complete event life cycle, including the initial trigger, event monitoring, handling procedures and instructions, event closure and reporting.

Deep Web and Social Data Enrichment

Uncovering information from the deep web that standard search won’t find by constantly searching publicly shared information across almost all online open sources – including web pages, social networking sites, video-sharing sites, microblogs, forums, blogs, and RSS feeds – based on user-defined search terms such as keywords, locations, times and Boolean conditions.
