Position Summary
The Data Scientist Computer Vision supports our Visual/Video Analytics group at the R&D center in Darmstadt. We are executing applied research and technology transfer projects. The projects are mainly focused around innovative and new technologies for Internet of Things. We provide the opportunity to drive ideas from conception to products which are deployed in the field.
As Data Scientist Computer Vision you will contribute your skills and knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will take responsibility for investigating and developing new video analytics algorithms to extract valuable insights and knowledge from large data sets generated within various application domains. You may advise graduate students and coordinate their activity with members of the research teams. As candidate you should have a solid interest in adapting state of the art computer vision algorithms for high-performance applications and impacting industry by working on actual projects.
Responsibilities
- Drive and contribute to the development of new video analytics algorithms
- Conduct research and coordinate work with peers, external partners and customers to develop a content base
- Deliver project results as part of the overall project plan and ensure seamless integration with the results of the other project members
- Create content for new analytics modules in collaboration with agile development teams
Education / Certification Requirements
- Master degree or equivalent in Computer Vision or related disciplines
- Doctorate degree or equivalent in Computer Vision or related disciplines is beneficial
Skills and Experience
- Advanced knowledge and experience in methods for computer vision, pattern recognition/machine learning, computer graphics or similar field
- Proficiency with at least one of the following languages: C++, Java or C#
- Experience with computer vision libraries like OpenCV
- Experience with development of user interfaces and/or data visualization tools is beneficial
- Fluent in English
